(From 5/4/2019) If you’ve never heard this song performed this way before, all I can say is… “CRANK IT UP!!” Chris is normally associated with smooth jazz so when I first heard this performed June 2018 at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center (SPAC) Jazz Festival in NY, I was shocked and just about fell out of my chair – literally. Chris Botti and Led Zepellin???
NOTE: Chris was at The Tracy Performing Arts Center this past Sunday, 2/16. Sally went with some girlfriends but I passed since I’ve seen him numerous times at SPAC. They were a bit disappointed that he didn’t play some of his hits but said the show was still very good.
After the long intro solo by noted chamber violinist, Caroline Chambers, the stage lights went to black for about 5 seconds then KA-BOOM….all hell let loose as the lights went up and the band brought the house down. This video is basically the same performance only it was recorded at the Merriam Theater in Philly.
So sit back, enjoy, and I repeat…CRANK IT UP!!
