This goes back to my original site and a page I originally posted when I was maintaining the VBC website.
I think when most of us retired to The Villages we all had somewhat similar ideas of what we’d be doing in our retirement years — whether it be golf, billiards, pickleball, traveling, gardening, volunteer work or whatever other activities we might fancy. At least I certainly had that vision in my head as I approached the move down here.
One thing I never ever thought about though was all the new friends I’d make down here over the years. And I certainly never thought I’d be able to say that Don Feeney was going to be one of them.
Over the years and beers – well actually Manhattans and Martinis (LOL) – I’ve not only had the chance to hear lots of those infamous Preacher stories but also to talk with him at a personal level. So as I often tell him… some folks may call him The Preacher but to me he’ll always be the “Dad I wish I had”.
