Originally I posted this back in 2019 when Paul Barrere, long-time member of Little Feat, died 10/26 after a long battle with liver disease. The band’s statement after his death was “As the song he sang so many times put it, he was always ‘Willin’,’ but it was not meant to be”.
So I thought it appropriate to play a version of that song. There’s lots of them out there with the whole band rockin’ out but I kinda like this more subtle, acoustic version with fellow Little Feat member, Fred Tackett — it a little different and makes me smile.
