(From 11/8/2018) Today’s artist was the first musician I ever saw at the Bottom Line in New York City. Two buddies and I skipped class in our senior year of high school to catch a train and head up to see Mose Allison. Years later in the 90’s I saw him at a local jazz club in Wilmington, the Flight Deck, where a friend of mine backed him up on drums. Since this song’s title – “Your Mind’s On Vacation” – reminded me of my play in Hickey League today, I thought it most appropriate.
This is another one where the original YouTube poster’s account got deleted so I had to find another version. It’s not as good as the first one because it has that little counter in the lower right but if you’ve never heard Mose sing, you should check it out. Enjoy…
