(From 2/15/2019) Well, this certainly doesn’t have the depth of Paul Robeson’s iconic version from Showboat (shown below) but it does show Frank’s range back in his youth.
For those who are curious…this is from the Jerome Kern autobiographical 1946 movie “Till the Clouds Roll By“.
I didn’t realize Paul Robeson was born in the late 1800’s or that he was also a lawyer. I always thought of only his singing and acting careers but he attended Rutgers University and Columbia Law School. Quite an interesting man as you can read here on Wikipedia.
