(From 12/4/2018) I’m going to merge “Two for Tuesday” and “Where or When“-sday together tonite because I’m running a bit late.
I’d be really hard-pressed to pick my favorite piano player but there’s certainly no doubt in my mind that Errol Garner is my choice for best renditions of the classics, Misty and Where or When.
If you’re not familiar with him, I highly recommend watching his 2012 documentary. There’s a little, 2-minute trailer from it below. Erroll never learned to read music and is famous for answering when asked why he never did, that “No One Can Hear You Read”, the title of the movie. Such a gifted genius who died way too young…
