You learn something new dept. today. I heard Elvin Bishop’s song, “I Fooled Around and Fell in Love”, the other day and made a note to myself to load it up here. I always thought he was the lead singer on this hit from 1976 but never realized he just played lead guitar on his Gibson that he nicknamed “Red Dog”.
The lead on this song was actually Mickey Thomas, who later joined Jefferson Airplane and Starship after Marty Balin and Grace Slick left. Ya never know…
Bishop was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Crank this one up and enjoy!
