Cilla Clack was born in Liverpool and was championed by the Beatles after she was discovered working as a coat-check attendant at The Cavern, the local club where the boys started.
Her single “Anyone Who Had a Heart” (written by Burt Bacharach) reached number one in the UK in 1964. I had such a crush on her in the 60’s! What a strong and powerful voice coming out of that little body. No dance crew or pyrotechnics. BTW — for those with a keen eye…that’s George Martin, the Beatles producer, conducting the orchestra.
