Since Brian has just arrived from the great, white north, I thought we’d welcome him with a couple of Canadian rock-n-roll classics. We’ll start with some Buffalo Springfield doing a song that still rings true almost 50 years later. In 1966 Canadian Neil young joined up with Americans Stephen Stills and Richie Furay (later the lead in Poco) but after numerous member changes – and arrests – they all moved on to other bands.
Next is Neil Young again, this time with fellow Canadians Rick Danko, Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson from The Band singing the melancholy classic, Helpless, where you’ll also hear another Canadian, Joni Mitchell, singing backup in the shadows. Enjoy…
