There’s just something about live performances of classic songs that gets to me. Maybe it’s the stage interactions, the possibility of the unexpected, the acoustics, whatever…In any case, I think this is one of the nicest versions of the Allman Brothers “Melissa” that I’ve ever heard.
Dickie Betts is such a joy to watch – particularly around the 4 minute mark when you can see Gregg kinda sitting back in his chair and saying to himself “take it guys”. And to think that Gregg was 19 when he wrote this. Enjoy…!
