As I promised last week, here is Darlene Love’s last performance of “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home” on the David Letterman Show in 2014. Paul Shaffer and The World’s Most Dangerous Band were still there to accompany Love that night.
The members: Paul Shaffer on keyboards, Will Lee on bass guitar and vocals, Sid McGinnis on guitar and Anton Fig on drums do a great job of replicating Phil Spector’s “Wall of sound”.
And below that video is the more sublime one I also promised. Can’t believe I haven’t posted a Diana Krall video…will have to dig one of her standards out later.
