(From 12/24/2019) I post this one every Christmas – and will continue to do so!! Letterman is no longer on the air but Darlene continues to perform – she did this song on the Jimmy Fallon show last year. Hopefully she returns there this Xmas.
I’m certainly not a fan of the typical shopping mall holiday songs but it wouldn’t be Christmas eve if I didn’t watch Darlene Love sing “Christmas Baby Please Come Home” on the Letterman Show. I was blown away by her first performance of it below in 1986. Thereafter, I made it a point to either watch or record it every year since.
The 25th anniversary show at the bottom it is my favorite version. The final time she performed it on Letterman was in 2014 and it will appear here soon – along with something a little more sublime.
