Bank Pool League
On Monday, Jan 6th, Don Hunter started a Bank Pool league that plays at the Hibiscus Rec Center at 9am. To our knowledge there has never been a bank pool league in TV.
Don mentioned that he got a very good response from the emails he sent out to solicit players, so he hopes this will be something that he can keep going. This should be a very competitive league, as many very good players have entered. Feel free to stop in to watch, maintaining pool room etiquette of being quiet. Here’s a YouTube video of a bank pool match between Efren Reyes and John Brumback in the 2010 Derby City Classic Banks Division Finals. Weekly standings are below…
Don’s Bank Pool League is off for the summer and will start up again when he returns from up north.
FINAL STANDINGS from March.
BANK POOL RULES
- The objective of nine ball bank pool is to pocket 5 balls before your opponent. General BCA pool rules apply in bank pool. Click here for the General Rules of Bank Pool.
- They will not be playing all ball fouls, but all cue ball fouls and if you move 2 object balls. When a foul occurs you must play the cue ball from the kitchen. If all the object balls are in the kitchen, then the one closest to the head string spots up.
- All shots must be called, including how many rails. All banks must go in cleanly. They cannot carom off another ball. In Don’s league you will be able to play a 3 or more rail kick shot. When you foul you lose a ball. If you don’t have a ball to spot, then you owe a ball.
- On the break, 4 balls must hit a rail or a ball must be pocketed. If these conditions are not met, the incoming player has the option of playing the table as it is, or having his opponent re-break. However, if the breaking player miscues and does not make contact with the rack, it is a foul, he owes a ball and the break passes to his opponent. If he miscues and hits the rack and does not hit a rail
